Hurricane Ivan

We moved permanently to Mexico on September 18, 2003. Less than a year later, on September 15, 2004, we were to experience our first hurricane. Hurricane Ivan, a category 5.
Since then we have lived through three more. First Emily in July 2005 and then the worst, Wilma in October 2005 and recently Dean.

This is the story of a hurricane virgin….me! I have since learned to not be quite so dramatic about impending hurricanes. But this was the first and it scared me senseless. We live at elevation 27 feet (9 meters) and are only about 50 yards from the ocean.
